Feature Story – Super Kitchen
The nutrition project called “Super Kitchen” put on a super event at the Kahilu Town Hall in Waimea. Around two hundred hungry children and adults showed up for a free, healthy dinner of Portuguese Bean Soup, brown rice, green salad, fruit salad and herbal tea. The group’s aim is to show the community that nutritious meals can be tasty, easy to prepare and inexpensive, less than $3 per meal.

Video – Mars Mission Food
In August, 2013, six researchers living in isolation inside a remote habitat for four months, emerged from their dome on Mauna Loa on Hawaii Island to feel the sun on their faces and to talk about their experiences. The researchers were part of a Mock Mars Mission that studied food and cramped living conditions.

Hawaii Snow on Mauna Kea
A big storm drifted over the Big Island of Hawaii dropping a lot of snow on Mauna Kea, one of our two 14,000 foot high mountains.
