While shooting this web commercial, I discovered a new attraction to take family and friends who visit the Big Island. Hamakua Macadamia Nut Factory, contrary to its name, is located off the highway in Kawaihae. It has a great tasting room, loads of free samples, a retail outlet and you can watch workers making mac nut brittle and other products. The factory has a Willy Wonka feel to it plus it’s very “green” operating mostly on sunlight. It’s definitely worth a stop.
