College students from Hawaii who are interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) work experience should look into the Akamai Workforce Initiative. The Akamai program provides training and work experience in high tech fields, not just astronomy.
News – Student Supports TMT
An Hawaiian high school student who loves astronomy takes a brave stand. As protests over the thirty meter telescope continue on Mauna Kea, Mailani Neal decided that she wanted to do something to support the telescope. She started an online petition called “We Support TMT.”

We shot the video for this “feel good” news feature story which ran on Big Island Video News. Aidan James is a 13-year old singer, songwriter and ukulele player who is charming, professional and exceptionally talented.

The Big Island remembers two boys who died in house fire in late January. Hundreds of residents turned out for “A Celebration of Life.” We taped this story for KITV and Big Island Video News at the invitation of family members. They wanted to thank the community for its support.

News – Tree Crushes House
A tree crushes house and several cars in Waimea, Hawaii on Saturday, February 14, 2015. Thankfully no one was at home or injured. A windstorm whipped through Hawaii Island and caused power outages, closed roads, and internet and phone disruption. I shot this handheld footage with our small camera that I carry “just in case.”
