Visionary Video produced this feature story for Big Island Video News. The nutrition project called “Super Kitchen” put on a super event at the Kahilu Town Hall in Waimea on Wednesday. Around two hundred hungry children and adults showed up for a free, healthy dinner of Portuguese Bean Soup, brown rice, green salad, fruit salad and herbal tea. The Super Kitchen dinners are the brainchild of the board and staff of Mala’ai: The Culinary Garden of Waimea Middle School. The group’s aim is to show the community that nutritious meals can be tasty, easy to prepare and inexpensive, less than $3 per meal.
