Tsunami videos from Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii

Early in the morning of March 11, 2011 tsunami waves from Japan's massive earthquake came ashore in Hawaii. The Kona area of the Big Island took a hard hit. Visionary Video documented waves washing over Kailua Kona's seawall into the downtown, an entire two story house floating in Kealakekua Bay, cars stacked on top of one another and interviews with eyewitnesses. Over the following days Visionary Video continued its news coverage shooting footage of the flooded palace, clean-up efforts and massive destruction of one of the island's favorite resorts, Kona Village. Follow the links below to see some of our footage posted on Big Island Video News. Visionary Video footage was also aired by all the local television stations, CNN, NBC, and it was included in a PBS NOVA documentary Japan's Killer Quake.
